A Kidney for Carolyn

Donation protected
My mom Carolyn has a heart of gold. She is loving, accepting, and so much more. Unfortunately, she was given quite the load to bare and continually bares it with grace. In 1993 my mom Carolyn was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease. This is a genetic disease that causes numerous cysts to form on her kidneys which eventually causes kidney failure. In January of 2002, our family decided it would be best for her to undergo a hysterectomy due to numerous health problems. Following her surgery, she would later go into cardiac-arrest and suffer an anoxic brain injury and a stroke resulting in a 2-month long hospital stay. Unfortunately, this resulted in the loss of her income and mounting medical bills started to form. She was a beloved high school English teacher in Cedar City and taught for a number of years. Due to her traumatic brain injury and stroke, she has not been able to work since. In July of this year, the nephrologist explained to my parents that her kidneys were failing and they needed to start the transplant process, which we thought would take months, but thankfully has moved rather quickly, and she is now listed on the National Transplant List as "Active".  We soon would find out the cost of the transplant and the requirements of what was to follow after the transplant occurs. My mom will be in the hospital for 5-7 days after the transplant and is required to stay in Murry Utah, where the transplant will take place for 4-6 weeks following her hospital stay. I am setting up this gofundme account to help alleviate the financial burdens of the costs associated with the kidney transplant. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to share this fundraiser and get the word out there. Thank you so much!
