Caroline, a 24 year old Emergency Room nurse, was recently diagnosed with POTS Syndrome in August 2018.
Having always been a fit and active young woman, Caroline seemingly became ill out of nowhere when she began passing out several times a day, along with blurred vision, excruciating headaches, weakness, dizziness, and extreme fatigue. After several trips to the Emergency Room, Caroline was admitted to the hospital for five days, as she could no longer sit up or support herself without fainting. After multiple rounds of blood work and testing, Caroline was given the tentative diagnosis of POTS Syndrome, a lifelong condition in which her body cannot circulate blood to organs appropriately. This causes many issues, the main being uncontrollable fainting. In the past two months, Caroline has been seen by countless cardiologists, neurologists, General Practitioners, ENTs, a POTS Specialist, and even a trip to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville.
Caroline's diagnosis means that she can no longer stand for more than several minutes at a time without fainting, she has to shower while seated, she is no longer able to exercise. Daily she battles nausea and vomiting, dizziness, joint and full body pain, fatigue and debilitating brain fog to the point where often she cannot drive. Many days she cannot even lift her arms over her head without getting fainting. Worst of all, she cannot return to work as a nurse, a profession she worked to hard to achieve. At this time, Caroline's health is taking a dramatic decline to the point of her being mostly housebound. We are continuing to search for answers.
Caroline is unable to work at this time. Caroline is currently experiencing mounting medical bills which she has no means to pay without your help.
