Carole Motycka liver transplant

My mom is courageous, brave and faithful.  She has faced so much in the past several years with strength and grace, she endures the challenges she is presented with unfaltering faith in knowing Christ will continue to provide and he is always with her.
Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in April, 2016, she was given months to live.  She was determined to not accept that and traveled to The Cleveland Clinic for further treatment, she has been treating at the clinic ever since. She has been through 9 rounds of chemo, 6 rounds of hai pump chemo, 3 surgeries including removal of her colon, the right lobe of her liver, and all tumors.  She has also had 14 other surgeries all in the last 2 years to treat other complications. She has been hospitalized several times, once for nearly a month.  She currently has a biliary drain in place to help the liver drain toxins.  Her liver has been compromised due to all the extreme chemo treatments it has taken on and now she needs a liver transplant for survival.
Mom is blessed to be a part of an amazing team of physicians at The Cleveland Clinic and through a program developed at the clinic is eligible to receive a living donor transplant.  An amazing human being, Jason Stechshulte, whom attends church with my mom has qualified as a donor and will be donating a portion of his liver to my mom on April 23rd, 2018.  While my family has been truly fortunate to have most medical expenses for the transplants covered there are also expenses that come which insurances won’t cover.  The main expenses they will incure are from the need to remain in Cleveland for 10-12 weeks after surgery.  Mom will stay and Trent will come and go when he doesn’t have to work.  There is a transplant house they can stay in which is close to the clinic which is the best choice as she will have to return to the hospital daily for tests for several weeks after surgery the cost associated is approximately $65.00 per day for the room.  Trent will also have additional expenses associated with travel to and from Cleveland and groceries and meals.
Our family appreciates your consideration to make this situation easier on Trent, allowing him to be close to mom while not worrying about anything else except her health.  We know cancer can challenge us physically and financially but it can never take our faith in Christ our Lord who will continue to see our family through this.
