Hello Friends! Never did we imagine we would be in a position to be raising funds to save our beloved store! These are very unprecedented and trying times. Rather than focus on the fears and doubts that are creeping upon us, the owners (myself and my beautiful Mum) are focusing on how we can support our staff and community most effectively immediately. This means we are going to need to provide goods most in need right now. Many folks are looking for alternatives to high traffic big box stores and we want to be here for them while respecting their social-distancing comfort level.
That being clearly stated, babies are being born, kids, (ok maybe us adults too), are changing sizes, birthdays are happening and milestones are being made. We want to be here for all of it. Any funds raised will be used as cash flow capital only to get the most essential items into the store as quickly as possible. Footwear and apparel for summer, protective wear for the littles, outdoor and indoor activities games to keep minds active and engaged in learning and fun!
Most aid packages offered so far have strict limits for use and we are utilizing those funds as directed to insulate our employees and essential services for the store. All of our cash flow capital has gone into paying required bills to remain a business entity in the state of Massachusetts. It's humbling to admit we are going to need a boost to open these doors and serve this community in a meaningful capacity. It breaks my heart that we don't have the funds. Not one of us has a second home to sell or extra assets to liquidate or we would. We are not a mega corp. We are a family of families doing a service for the same.
We want to be here to welcome our wonderful patrons with open hearts, we want to be here to walk with all of you in difficulty and in joy. My Mum and I have moved obstacles we thought were impossible to preserve this resilient business, a true anchor in this downtown for 35 years. With your help and #smallbusinessrelief we are going to (gosh darn-it) do it again. We will remember and pay back to the community in kind.
