Fire Relief Fund for Carol & Allen

My name is Gina. I am helping my dear friends, Carol Crosby and Allen Hurd, who have just lost their home, they have lived in Upper Ojai and Ojai for about 20 years. They got married earlier this year after twenty-one years together. Their wedding was supposed to mark the start of a joyful new chapter in their lives after years of hardships that included the loss of their ranch and the long illness and death of Carol's beloved mother. Sadly, more loss was yet to come.                                   

The Thomas Fire has had a truly devastating effect on Carol and Allen's life and livelihood. Not only did they lose their home, they lost two sources of income.
Allen had just accepted a job at Titan Speed Engineering and was looking forward to  a promising new career when the Thomas Fire started. Two days later, his place of employment and all of the inventory was gone, and Allen was out of a job. The pair had also been selling fresh, organic produce they grew on their property to a rehabilitation center in Malibu. When their home  burned, their garden did as well. 

Carol and Allen are shell-shocked, and they are struggling to pick up the pieces of their life. They had fifteen minutes to gather their horses and furry family members to evacuate, and they have not had the ability to take a full inventory of their losses as they have been in constant motion since. Despite all they have been through, they have never stopped helping others, and are currently lending assistance to their neighbors and community members in Ojai who have also lost their homes. 

They need to buy a motor home to replace their home that was destroyed. They also need to purchase essential items like clothing, electronics and household goods that were lost in the fire. They aren't sure how much money to ask for as they are still figuring out what they need to replace and what it will cost, so their estimated amount may change. Any money they receive will be truly appreciated. Carol and Allen are grateful for their community, near and far, and it is a source of comfort and joy that they have so many friends and neighbors who are willing to help in any way they can.

I can honestly say they are two of the kindest and most wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. They are generous with their time, wisdom, expertise, and friendship. I'm setting up this campaign for them because they don't have the time or resources to do it for themselves at this time. Let's help these newlyweds to finally have the peace, comfort, security, and happiness they work so hard to give others! Please any amount will help durring this transition. Thank you.
