Carol’s Cause - Mental Health Memorial Fundraiser

We are raising money for mental health charities who help prevent suicide and offer support to the vulnerable. You can follow the progress of the charity event and song we’re putting together here:

THIS is our storey… Carol Wellfair was our wonderful mum who really was a total legend and a fun loving beaut. Click here to watch out memorial video

Sadly mum took her own life due to her poor mental health through no fault of her own. Mum was the last person you would expect to read this story about. A Christian woman, wife, mother to four children and a grandmother to seven grandchildren that she was immensely proud of. She devoted her life to helping other people, especially those in need.

Like so many others that are sadly in the same predicament as us, we never in a million years thought this could happen especially not to someone like mum. It has taught us a really hard lesson that anyone is at risk of poor mental health and suicide.

We have all heard about the state of the mental health services in the UK but it’s not until you need those services you realise how desperate the situation is. We believe mum was let down by the system and that this could have been prevented if the right action had been taken. The right action often involves funds that simply aren’t available.

We can’t fix the mental health crisis but because mum is such a credit to us and led by example in making the world a better place we feel compelled to help these vulnerable people in anyway we can. We have therefore chosen to raise funds for charity by in honour of mum. We know she would want us to help as many people as we can because she cared so deeply about people. There are a whole host of individuals that can tell you mum made a difference to their lives.

Suicide Crisis  - A local charity that tried to fill the gap when resources aren’t there to support those going through serious mental health episodes. Incredibly, they have never lost a patient and they help campaign for positive change.

NAPAC - supports adult survivors of child abuse. These people need help just as much as children they were once those children and need support of the limited help available to them. Many survivors don’t talk about the abuse (if ever) until well into adulthood.

Sunflower Suicide Support - Funded by people who know the pain and trauma of loss by suicide to offer support to people bereaved by suspected suicide

The world was a better place with this gorgeous person in it. It’s a complete tragedy to lose such a gift of a human but her legacy lives through us and will continue to do so. Let’s come together and pull off a hell of a fundraiser and do this gal proud.

You can contribute to our fundraiser in several ways. You can donate through this page, you can purchase Jacobs charity single & music video in honour of Carol Wellfair when it is released and you are also invited to the charity fundraiser event in Cheltenham, we will post more info as we go.

Thank you for taking the time to read mums story and for any donations made.

Love from Carols children Lucie, Rich, Sarah and Jacob and her husband Colin. ❤️
