Carmen’s Hospital Expenses
   (Summary at the bottom)

Carmen is a super mother of four and a adoptive mother of three. She has a total lot of seven children. She has worked hard every single day of her life to ensure a future and fun life for her children.

Carmen contracted COVID19 around June 18th. She was finally admitted to a local Clovis
Community Hospital on June 24th. The last     words she spoke was in tears “What are my     kids going to do without me. Eventually
on June 25th everything went Radio Silence.

On June 25th she was rushed to the ICU. She
was stapled onto life support, fighting for her
life. It was a constant upheaval battle that
emotionally scared this family. Throughout,
the summer of 2020, the daunting phone
call everyday was the new norm. Carmen’s
ventilator pressure would eventually lower. Although, this would never last long. She would
eventually do this the next months. Her vent
would skyrocket then shoot down.

Carmen eventually developed a chest hole in
her lung. She was recommended for ECHMO
(life support ultra) and lung transplants at
Stanford University. She was denied these
opportunities due to not meeting
requirements and/or it being full due to other
Covid patients. Her family almost lost her but on September 7th they took a chance to give
her a tracheostomy. It succeeded she was
doing better, she was transported to Sacrame-nto to proceed treatment.

Eventually, she was able to come back to her
hometown in December. She has worked hard everyday to rehabilitate from Lung damage
and wound tissue damage. In February, she
made much more process. She was able to
stand up (for ten seconds), eat, and be
wheeled outside. She has been discouraged
but worked hard everyday.

Carmen has made such great progress.
Although, this progress comes with a cost.
Her insurance stopped due to 8 months of no work. So, it’s time to reap the hospital bills. Carmen’s current bill is about $6,000 USD.  Anything would help get us a step closer.
