Carmen needs a tumor removed
Donation protected
Carmen is an adorable 12 year old Chihuahua mix who needs your help.
I am probably Carmen’s 6th human; we became a couple when our father passed in 2015 and no one else in the family could keep her. I couldn’t bear to see her go to yet another new family, especially as Carmen is the first soul that I have connected with emotionally as an adult. She seems to have some emotional damage from her earlier years, but we’ve been good for each other. She provides the emotional support that I, as a single, houseless, unemployed disabled person, need. Unfortunately, I am unable to provide her with the medical care that she now needs.
A recent, near-death medical event led to the discovery of a “softball-sized” tumor (which explains why her belly never got smaller as she lost weight these last two years). Statistically, it’s probably on her spleen, but ultrasound, x-rays and other tests are needed to diagnose her condition accurately. A surgery will probably be in order, unless she is riddled with cancer. And chemo may be necessary if the tumor is malignant. Otherwise, Carmen is in good shape after recovering from what was probably the tumor bleeding out which put her near death a few weeks ago.
I am am hoping that with everyone’s help, Carmen can get the care that she needs and deserves when the weather cools down in a few weeks. Carmen is uncomfortable in the summer heat and I wouldn’t want her convalescing while the weather is still hot.
Thank you for your consideration and your help.
May peace find you and yours in these trying times. Be well.
