It’s Never Too Late!
Hi. We are André and Carly¸ and we’re getting married! A lesbian couple in our 70’s, we met about 6 years ago at Strawberry Creek Lodge, (low-income senior housing in Berkeley, CA). We never imagined we’d be so lucky - to fall in love again at this late date!
We’ve been a couple now for nearly three years. We love music, dance & theater and supporting LGBT & Feminist issues. We love getting out on our mobility scooters, doing errands, discovering new flowers in our neighbor’s gardens, and hearing “uh oh, here comes double trouble”! We plan to spend the rest of our years (hopefully quite a few of them!) together. Our wedding will be on June 19th, just 2 + months from now.
We’re going to celebrate by having a wonderfully fun ceremony and party here at Strawberry Creek with our friends and family. We want to offer our guests great food, delicious non-alcoholic drinks, music we can dance to, lots of beautiful flowers and joyful celebration! If we raise enough money, we’d like to take a honeymoon trip as well.
You can help make this wedding even more wonderful by donating to our marriage fund. This would be an amazing gift. We’re asking friends and family not to give us physical gifts – at this stage of our lives we are trying to let go of “things”. More important to us is to enjoy each other and the world around us.
