My sister Carla Kiwan was born with a birth defect in her heart, it was found that she had blocked artery veins in the heart, which caused her to have open heart surgery at four years old. Gladly, at that time everything went well and the surgery was successful.

Years later, she had other complications which also led her to have another open heart surgery in 2018. It was a life-threatening and risky surgery, they changed her pulmonary valve but again she fought and was given another life chance.

Not long after, in a very short time this year, it was found that her valve is not working anymore, after experiencing shortness of breath and heart complications. It was decided that she needs another heart surgery through Trans Catheter. The surgery will take place at Hotel Dieu France in Lebanon on March 15, 2023.

The surgery's cost is $41,000 in US dollars, equal to $55838.72 in Canadian dollars.

Carla is only 25 years old, she's been struggling with this complication throughout her whole life, always worrying about what the future hides.

Carla got engaged a couple of months ago in December and is planning to get married in July 2023. She is not able to prepare for her wedding if her surgery can't happen.

Lebanon is in a very serious crisis, especially economically, and with such expenses, it's very hard to be provided.
