Caring for Chase

Chase and his family need our help!.......Chase had a terrible accident outside his home on Tuesday March 9. He was life flighted to UPMC children's hospital in Pittsburgh with severe head trauma. Upon arrival, Chase went into cardiac arrest and CPR was successfully performed. Later on in the night he went into cardiac arrest an second time and CPR was successful. He is on a ventilator and has a chest tube to help with a partially collapsed left lung. His oxygen levels were in the 70s his first night here. The next day there were some improvements but there are still so many unknowns. He does have brain activity and no signs of seizures. His heart, lungs, and kidneys are all struggling but he is stable. He is on the ventilator and kidney dialysis which helps show some improvements. His oxygen levels are up near 100% and his brain pressure levels are mostly staying within normal range, with some spikes but they are managing them. He is awaiting eye surgery and may lose vision in his right eye. They are also waiting to be able to perform a skull reconstruction as he has multiple fractures from the top front of his skull down to his upper jaw. They are giving him the best care and doing all they can for him. He is doing much better than he was when he initially arrived but he still has a long way to go. Prayers are appreciated so much and we have seen God working in this situation already.
This update is from Chase's mom, Wendi. Both of his parents are in Pittsburgh with him. He will have a long recovery and multiple surgeries. Chase is a sick little boy and needs all the help and prayers he can get.. He is still very sick from the head trauma and went into neurogenic pulmonary edema.Please consider making a donation to ease the financial strain on this family. Both parents will be out of work for a bit so they can be there for Chase.. The Ronald McDonald house is currently full.. Therefore, the family will have to be staying in a hotel room.
