Care for Karen and Sam

Our mom, Karen Keller, has been fighting a battle with chronic illness for over 12 years. In the last year her health has deteriorated resulting in numerous life threatening situations and hospitalizations. In the last four months, she has fallen twice resulting in fractures to her low back. After two surgeries and some really frightening complications she had a four week stay at a skilled nursing facility where she had daily physical therapy to regain her ability to stand and walk short distances.


Just two days ago, she was discharged home into a hospice program but she will need someone to be with her at all times. While hospice care will provide access to immediate medical care and some limited home health care, Sam and the girls are going to need some help. We are estimating they will need 12-16 hours of care a week beyond what the family can provide. Non-medical caregivers are not covered under Medicare or through their insurance and dad is still working three days a week to provide for their needs.  


$10,000 will cover the cost of 12-16 hours of care a week for at least six months. The need is immediate and desperate. We know many of you would love to help and have asked how you might contribute to Karen’s needs. Any help you can give great or small will be a tremendous blessing.
