Car parts ,tools, and labor

This is very embarrassing but I really need help here. With the holidays and two of my kids having birthdays around this time of year me and my wife are very tight right now on money . To make a story short I took our family car (our only car) to my work to get inspected. It needs a lot of work and I don’t think it’s going to run for more than another few months. I travel to work everyday about 35 miles each direction and my entire family (my wife, Ayden,aubree, Michael, and I depend on this vehicle Because I am the only involved in the house. My wife stays home with the kids and probably works harder than me but unfortunately doesn’t get paid for it. We usually can fix things like this ourselves but with Christmas we are strapped. I need the tools and the parts to do the jobs myself in the car also would need a few bucks to pay someone to help me. I don’t like asking for help but if I don’t get our car fixed we have no income and without that we could lose everything we have worked so hard to  get.
