Car accident in Canada
Donation protected
What was supposed to be a happy and memorable family trip to Alaska ended in a tragic car accident in the middle of no where in Canada. Our cousins Maksim Vechirko and his 10 year old daughter Tatyana, along with Maksim’s brother Andrey, his wife Irina and their 6 year old son Bogdan were involved in a rollover accident after their car left the road and went rolling down a steep embankment. Irina, Bogdan and Tatyana were ejected out of the vehicle and two of them sustained life threatening injuries. Miraculously, Maksim and Andrey got away with minor cuts and scratches. The children and Maksim were taken to a hospital in Whitehorse in Yukon and were flown to Vancouver, BC the following day to be evaluated and treated by specialists. Andrey and Irina were taken to a hospital in Prince George, BC and will remain there for the time being since Irina is on life support. The car is totaled and all possessions were lost. They were left with just the clothes on their backs, far away from home or any relatives.
As you could imagine, they will be in a financial hardship for a while since neither Maksim or Andrey will be able to work while in Canada. Maksim has a wife and five other children that were not with him at the time of the accident. Both families just immigrated from Ukraine a couple years ago and are residing in Sacramento, CA.
The road to recovery for Tatyana, and especially for Irina and Bogdan will be a long one. We are asking for prayers so that they make a full recovery and if anyone is willing to help financially, any help will be greatly appreciated. All proceeds will go directly to both families.
May God bless you all.
