Jenn's CAP Marathon

In the three years I've been involved with Community Action Partnership (CAP), I've been privileged to witness the incredible life-changing impact this organization can have on those they serve. CAP Agency is a private non-profit offering more than 20 programs and services to those in need in Scott, Carver, and Dakota counties in Minnesota. Programs range from a food shelf, Head Start, and crisis nursery to emergency housing, meals on wheels, and energy assistance.
CAP served almost 30,000 people in 2017 alone. They helped 161 people obtain and maintain safe and stable housing. They served 4,158 senior citizens through programs like home delivered meals and CHORE. The Food Shelf distributed 716,687 pounds of food to residents of just Scott County! They also distributed more than 1,500 backpacks to local low-income students and 3,107 gifts to ensure families had a joyful holiday season.
CAP meets people where they're at. They provide comprehensive services and cover basic needs to help people in need or in crisis get back on their feet. The work that CAP does is important and is something that I whole-heartedly support. I hope you will help me support them as well as I run my second marathon!
Training for a marathon isn't exactly easy, but it is nothing compared to the work done by the CAP staffers who every day help people facing eviction, domestic abuse, hunger, and poverty. CAP is changing lives and transforming communities. Running a marathon is the least I can do.
