This is a video of my amazing and inspiring sister Vicki, shortly after recovering from her second cancer diagnosis. As you can see she is full of love, life and beautiful energy.
In 2010 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a mastectomy which she had fully recovered from and was living a very happy, fulfilling life again.
In 2014 after hearing her daughter would give birth to her first grandchild, she received the news that the cancer had returned and she now had ovarian cancer that had spread to her bowl, liver and diaphragm. She was given de-bulking surgery but unfortunately there were complications and for a long time afterwards, she was very ill in hospital. We were told by the doctors that she may not make it as she was very weak and not responding to treatment. Thankfully her amazing spirit , energy and drive came back in full force and yet again she fought back from a seemingly impossible position. Next she had chemotherapy, and for those of you that know this is a horrible and energy killing treatment but she fought it with such strength and courage, she inspired so many people around her. After the chemotherapy, unsurprisingly she was very weak but her drive and spirit where so strong she made yet another full recovery. The video is of her at our local carnival shortly after being given the all clear and perfectly shows her in her element dancing, smiling and living life to her fullest.
For 5 years she was in remission! She really was living her best life, doing so many things she always wanted to do, as well as looking after her grandson Eli as much as she can. She loves their adventures and time together. Sadly the cancer is back once more. She has a recurrence of the ovarian cancer and it has now spread to two further sites involving her colon and her spleen. For the last 5 months she has been having more chemotherapy and yet again her fight, determination and positivity to beat this horrid disease has been inspiring for every person she knows and meets.
Now the chemotherapy is over and she was left with a choice; either have an operation to remove the tumours, part of her bowel and her entire spleen along with any other effected part. She would most likely be left with a bag for her poo and pee with no guarantees that it will work and little quality of life, along with lifetime medication/antibiotics and practically no immune system. Or she could try an inhibitor drug called Niraparib which will not work forever if it works at all. Both of these options offer her a life expectancy according to the doctors of anywhere between maybe a few months to a few years.
Her last option now and the one she has chosen is to use homoeopathic treatment oil which she can get and be treated with in Holland (and why the Go fund me page is in Euros but you can still donate in pounds too). Our family as a whole have all contributed to her treatment and done what we can but for this intensive treatment the costs come to four thousand six hundred Euros so we have set up this page for friends, family and generous people to contribute and help save my sisters life. If everyone on my friends list chips in a few quid it could easily be raised and could help save the life of my beautiful, amazing and inspiring sister. She has so much to live for still and her positivity and will to live is as strong as ever. She just wants to see her daughter and grandson grow up. She just wants to live.
