Cancun Outreach

We are continuing a project here in Cancun. A member of our church has donated some land that he owns to the work of the Lord. It is in a poor area of Cancun, and our goal is to build a kind of community area for use in reaching out to this neighborhood. We envision days where we can offer to help feed and clothe the local residents, and at the same time deliver friendship, prayer, and the gospel. 

We have already cleared the land, brought in extra fill material, and built up the side walls with concrete block. We would like to install a front gate, a septic tank, simple bathrooms, and a palapa shelter of 8 meters by 12 meters (approx. 26’ x 40’). The costs break down as follows:

Gate: $2,800

Septic: $1,300

Bathrooms: $2,800

Palapa: $6,000

Plastic chairs & tables: $1,500


TOTAL $14,400

We would welcome any help that anyone would want to give. 100% of all contributions will go to this project. There will be no administration costs of any type. Any funds collected over and above what we need for construction will go towards buying food and clothing for the local residents.

Estamos continuando un proyecto aquí en Cancún. Un miembro de nuestra iglesia ha donado algunas tierras que él posee a la obra del Señor. Está en una zona pobre de Cancún, y nuestro objetivo es construir una especie de área comunitaria para su uso en llegar a este vecindario. Nos imaginamos días en los que podemos ofrecer para ayudar a alimentar y vestir a los residentes locales, y al mismo tiempo entregar la amistad, la oración y el evangelio.

Ya hemos despejado la tierra, hemos traído material de relleno extra, y hemos construido las paredes laterales con bloques de hormigón. Nos gustaría instalar una puerta frontal, un tanque séptico, baños simples, y una  palapa de 8 metros por 12 metros. Los costes son como sigue:

Puerta: $50.400 pesos

Séptico: $23.400 pesos

Baños: $50.400 pesos

Palapa: $108.000 pesos

Sillas y tablas plásticas: $27.000 pesos

TOTAL: $259.200 pesos

Daríamos la bienvenida a cualquier ayuda que alguien quisiera dar. 100% de todas las contribuciones van a este proyecto. No habrá costos administrativos de ningún tipo. Cualquier dinero recaudado por encima de lo que necesitamos para la construcción irá hacia la compra de alimentos y ropa para los residentes locales.
