Funeral and other expenses

I am sorry to report that on Thursday, November 9, my nephew Jesse Cativiela, 26, of Vista, California, lost his nearly two-year battle with cancer. Jesse leaves behind a son, Colton, who just turned six this month, and Colton's mother, Caitlin. Jesse is also survived by his father and mother, Charles and Angela, who cared for him around the clock for most of the last two years, and Jesse's older brother, Paul.

A celebration of life will be held this Saturday, November 18 at 4 p.m. at the home of Charles and Angela, 1740 Bonair Road, in Vista. Friends and family are welcome.

As we've said before, this campaign's purpose was to partially offset the tremendous financial burden this family has borne throughout Jesse's struggle.  While insurance covered basic medical expenses, it could not make up for lost income as family members took turns caring for Jesse,  and for many extra expenses not covered by insurance. And now, sadly, modet funeral expenses as well. 

Our goal was to raise as much as $25,000. For those who have already given and helped us raise nearly $5,000 to lighten their burdens, we are forever grateful.
