Newcastle Harbour swim for Dragons Abreast

So I woke up this morning in Darling Harbour Sydney & thought stuff it...

...if I’m going to have to consider another double mastectomy, more lymph gland clearance under both arms as well as my neck & throat which will really restrict my movement...

I’d better sign up for the Newcastle Harbour Swim this Australia Day & raise money for Dragons ABreast...

So- Who’s got a few $ to throw into the hat?!

Chinese New Year is coming up in Darling Harbour in Feb & I’d love to help them out with their rego... A brilliant event I have had the amazing privilege to sweep/ cox boats at as well as compete & compere over the past 20 years ...

For those who don’t know: Newcastle Harbour Swim is an annual open sea swim across the largest tonnage port in Australia filled with sharks It is also where the good folks of Dragons Abreast & Newcastle/ Hunter Dragon Boat Club train so I know the place like the back of my hand!!

It’s 21 years since my 1st breast Cancer surprise & I have a few more battle scars since first dipping my paddle in all those years ago & still have a few more to add to my proud collection...

And now Dragons Abreast & Newcastle/ Hunter Dragon Boat Club celebrate their 20 year existence and have asked me to talk as a Founding Member at the celebration next month in Feb where I now also hope to hand over a big cheque...
