Cancer Expenses for Mary Lescher

In spring of 2019, while on an animation job in Madrid, Mary Lescher, whose credits include Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Mulan, and most recently Klaus, learned she had developed an aggressive Stage 4 cancer of the gallbladder, which has progressed into her liver and lymphatic system.

Since chemotherapy didn't promise anything more than a few painful months, she refused it. The only course of action now is to manage her pain and keep her comfortable.

She has no medical insurance in the United States, but is currently surrounded by her family and longtime partner, John. Mary needs financial help getting through this last stage of her life. Donations will help with medications and living expenses, which are simply too high to handle without assistance.


This gofundme is organized by John Urbancik, Mary's partner for the past 20+ years, with the intention of using raised funds to pay for expected and unexpected medical and living expenses (for example, medication and doctor visits) as she deals with her terminal illness. John will be withdrawing the funds for Mary, as they have lived together for years and continue to do so now, and John is handling all the financial matters at this point in time. They currently reside in Florida.
