Fight Kelly Fight! Cancer Can't Sit w/Us

Spende geschützt
Last May, my best friend Kelly was diagnosed with breast cancer. Kelly is the mother of 2 toddlers and continues to be the head of her household of 4, throughout her aggressive treatment and surgeries. Insurance does not cover every expense, especially when Kelly is unable to work due to her treatment. If you could, please take a moment to learn more about my best friend.
You know that friend you have that you can count on for anything? The friend who knows that you need them before you can even ask? The friend who will give you the best advice you never knew you needed and the shirt off their back? That is my best friend Kelly and last year she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Caring for a family of 4 while working full-time is costly and a lot of work for anyone, doing so while undergoing treatment for cancer is almost unimaginable....except it is my best friend's reality. Kelly is truly a superhero to me, she is courageous and unstoppable in her fight against her cancer. I am asking you to be a hero for her and her family, with a gift that will support them in day-to-day expenses as Kelly continues treatment and undergoes double surgeries.

Kelly's Cancer & Treatment
Kelly has been in nonstop active treatment for stage 2 multifocal BRCA+ breast cancer since her diagnosis in May 2018. It has been a long road, and there have been twists in her planned treatment path that have caused it to persist far longer than planned, which has meant a surge of more medical bills and another upcoming medical leave of absence from her job, and as the primary income for her family.

After 16 rounds of IV chemo, completed last fall, Kelly underwent a bilateral mastectomy and lymph node dissection. At the time of surgery, it was believed that Kelly had a complete pathological response to chemo. Unfortunately, this was a false negative and Kelly did in fact still have remaining micromets in one node and the removed breast tissue. Because of this, along with radiation, 6 more months of chemo were added to Kelly’s treatment path.

Now, after completing 25 rounds of daily radiation, and 8 more rounds of grueling oral chemotherapy over the last 6 months, Kelly has reached her biggest milestone yet - the end of active treatment!!!! To officially close this chapter, Kelly will undergo two more surgeries, to be completed in the same day, for the final major step in reconstruction and to help prevent the occurrence of ovarian cancer, as a carrier of the BRCA1 gene mutation.

Can you help Kelly and her family?
In order to recover from her double surgeries, Kelly will need to take another medical leave from her job, for at least 6 weeks. With surgery set for Nov 13, this is at an incredibly financially challenging time of year for her family with the insurance cycle ending/resetting and the holidays.

It isn't easy to ask for help. Kelly and her family need support to get through this challenge and begin to heal and recover from these difficult past two years. Your donation in any amount will be an incredible help to this family of 4.
