Cancer Campaign for My Mother

This past April my mom was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer.  She is only 40 years old.  She had a lumpectomy in her left breast and 15 lymph nodes were removed.  Unfortunately, the cancer had spread to one of her lymph nodes.  That means there is a greater chance that cancer cells have spread to the rest of her body.  Because the cancer spread to her lymph node, she will now have to begin 4 months of chemotherapy along with six weeks of radiation and a minimum of five years of hormone therapy.  It's going to be a very long road to recovery for my mom but she is strong and I know she will beat this.

Cancer takes so much from people, their life, their dignity, their will, their job and the list goes on.  I want to help my mom defeat cancer and to stop it from taking everything from her.  I want to help her fight cancer from taking her dignity and self esteem by forcing her to go through chemotherapy and losing all of her hair.  Again, my mom is only 40 and has long, thick beautiful brown hair.  She has sacrificed so much in her life for me and I want to give a gift back to her.  I am raising money for polar cold caps for my mom to use during chemo.  The caps work by freezing the hair follicles closed so the chemo drug can't get in and destroy the cells.
