Canadian Artist + Musician Relief Fund

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, there have been countless exhibition closures, gig and event cancellations, all translating into lost income for low-income artists, musicians, and cultural producers.

We seek to provide support for low-income artists and musicians whose livelihoods are being effected by this pandemic. Whether it's from cancelled gigs, lost jobs, or a lack of business due to coronavirus, our intention for this fund is to collectively raise money in order to provide emergency and preventative resources to those at financial risk.

At this time: the fund will go to support artists and musicians in :
- Greater Montréal
- Greater Toronto region

*** Depending on how much we raise, we may be able to support other regions. You may still fill out the survey if you are outside these areas and we will keep you updated.

OUR GOAL
We hope to raise $100,000. This number is based on our goal to help 500 artists with $200 one-time emergency support payments each. 

TO APPLY FOR FUNDING AS A LOW INCOME ARTIST/MUSICIAN/DANCER/PERFORMER:
Please complete this survey . All information shared remains confidential. 

We will asses the applications for funding on a rolling basis and each week we will disperse it accordingly to all those who apply via the survey. Our goal is to give $200 per person. The more funding we receive, the more money we can provide to more people.  Funding dispersement schedule is each Sunday starting on March 22nd. 


TRANSPARENCY OF DISTRIBUTION OF FUNDS: 
As survey applications come in, we will withdraw the funds and send them directly to the individual artists requesting them (the beneficiary). Funds will be split equally each week between everyone who applies for aid. We will be keeping public records of all fund distribution (while maintaining individual privacy) available in a Google Sheet. Funds will go directly to the artists to counter any lost income incurred as a result of cancelled jobs, gigs, and illnesses due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
