Canada Camino

Aangen and Heart Space announce the 5th Annual Canada Camino, happening this September 2021 from Sept 18th - Sept 24th!!

Six hikers intend to spend a week hiking approximately 160km of the Bruce Trail from Mono Mills going North to Collingwood to remember and connect with the earth and to raise funds for Indigenous communities locally and globally and for environmental initiatives. They will also be joined by six day hikers on the first two days of the Camino. It is a walk to heal the earth and a walk to heal our own hearts.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 with this hike which will be divided between three organizations that we love and wish to support:

Raven Trust has a mission to provide access to justice for Indigenous Nations. Supporting the assertion of the inherent and constitutionally-protected rights of Indigenous Peoples is a powerful pathway towards reconciliation and environmental justice. They have already raised more than 7 million dollars to back some of the most groundbreaking legal challenges of our time. The First Nations partnering with RAVEN have halted mines, stopped pipelines, and protected pristine watersheds. We will specifically be supporting the Heiltsuk Nation in their legal case and all funds donated will be matched during this time period!!

45% of funds raised will go to Raven

The Spiritan Self-Awareness Initiative is a non-profit organisation (NGO) registered with the Ministry of Gender Affairs and Social Development, Government of Enugu Nigeria. Their mission is to promote joyful self-awakening through humanitarian service in the form of Educare, Medicare and Sociocare. Their current work includes a strong focus on food security initiatives and agriculture due to the severe food shortages and poverty in the region.

45% of funds will go to the Spiritan Self-Awareness Initiative

The Bruce Trail Conservancy aims to protect and steward land along the Niagara Escarpment and make it available to explore by foot along the magnificent Bruce Trail. This organization has identified as Canada's top environmental charity in 2020 according to Macleans magazine.

10% of funds raised will go to the Bruce Trail Conservancy

Donations of $75 or more will be eligible for a charitable tax receipt for 45% of the donation (representing the portion that goes to Raven Trust).
