“Can You Help My Daughter and Grandchildren?” ♥️
Donation protected
I’m a mom, and right now my heart is breaking for my daughter and grandchildren.
If you’ve read some of my Facebook posts lately, you know of a tough situation that we’re facing. Sorry for the long post. First, I have the best friends and family in the world, and y’all are smart!
A few months ago, my daughter’s husband of 22 years marched in and announced he was divorcing her, suing for full custody of the kids, and getting the house free and clear. Obviously, that won’t happen.
She has been a stay-at-home mom for over 18 years. They were happily married (or so she thought) for 22 years. He left her and the kids with the house falling apart. They have no A/C in these 100+ degree temps. She’s in the Ft. Myers area (Lee County). Inside the house is brutal. We just got back from a 3-week visit to offer help, and we could only stay inside for 30 minutes or less. There’s also no electricity in part of the house.
She is trying to get by on about $900 per month, and $500 of that goes to attorney fees. There is zero money for a new A/C system or to fix the electricity. There are no funds for an attorney moving forward. She will apply for legal aid. He wants to kick her and the kids out of the house and sell it “as is” at a big loss. This essentially would leave her homeless. She can’t move home to Jacksonville because she can’t move her kids out of the county. Her husband hadn’t let her come home in over five years, and we’re only a 5-hour car drive away. We’ve helped as much as we’re able.
He moved in with his parents. His sister, her husband, and two kids live there, too. When my daughter’s three kids are there, there are up to ten people in a 1300 sq ft house. Her younger two boys have to sleep on air mattresses in the main area where they get very little sleep due to people being loud, TV, etc. There is a bedroom only used on the weekends and empty during the week, but they won’t let the boys sleep in there during the week because it’s not “their room.” So it stays empty while the boys get no sleep. They are also woken up very early. Her husband is using their 18-year-old son to chauffeur the two younger ones back and forth. He has not once picked them up or brought them home.
Here’s where you come in. We need every piece of advice you can offer. They need A/C. She needs a good attorney who will go to the mat for her and the kids. Throw me every suggestion you have. If you pray, pray hard! If you feel led to help financially, no matter how small, funds will be used for an attorney and for A/C, even portable units.
Her top priority is her children. She will storm the gates of Hell for them. She will starve to feed them. Life shouldn’t be this way.
If you can help at all, any amount is vitally important. Every dollar will help.

I would not even suggest this if the need wasn’t so great.
She applied for food stamps and they supposedly emailed her with an appointment, but she didn’t get an email from them. They gave her a number to call where it tells her that they have a high call volume then hangs up. It’s one problem after another.
Do you know of any resources that may be available? Hit me with everything you’ve got. Please share in case someone you know may have suggestions that would help. And all prayers are welcomed and needed.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers, suggestions and possible financial assistance.
