UPDATE: WE ARE HALFWAY THERE!!!

Today marks success in meeting over half our goal three weeks after we started this GoFundMe. We are gratified at this outpouring of support.

Now for some fantastic news: Our award winning director is Princess Bey, a screenwriter, director, producer, and playwrite. Please welcome her to this All Star cast. ✨✨We have less than 2 weeks to go! See Princess bio here:

Princess is an award-winning screenwriter, director, producer and playwright from Brooklyn, NY. Her last short film, Khadijah has screened at multiple festivals, including the Charlotte Black Film Festival, Newark International Film Festival, and Baltimore Black Film Festival, to name a few.

As a teen, Princess was often referred to as a "troubled" youth, and she credits the arts for saving her life by providing an outlet for her to explore and explore her emotions. Upon graduating Stony Brook University,
she promised herself that she would always pay it forward and help others find their light via artistic expression.

Princess had the amazing opportunity of working with Foster Care Unplugged to write, direct and serve as the acting coach for
Foster Care Unplugged: The Stage Play (Parts I and II),a series of productions sponsored by NYC foster care agencies and ACS, designed to help youth within the child welfare system share their stories with the world. She serves as a facilitator for a sex trafficking prevention program, and recently directed a mini-documentary for the NYC Administration for Children's Services Office of Child Trafficking Prevention and Policy.

She founded her company, Mobella Productions to help others bring stories to life on film, specifically those of underrepresented communities. She finds that education, training and access to opportunities is paramount for those pursuing a career in the arts, so the company also runs youth programs and provides reel production services for actors.

                     ***THE PROJECT***

Hi! Joyclyn, Melanie and Castanita here and we are 3 Black Lived Experience Experts of the sex trade. We are shooting a short film project
discussing our life in prostitution and its impact on our lives. This film will be highlighting some important themes including: Race, Full Decriminalization of the Sex Trade, the Prison Industrial Complex, and prostitution as cyclical generational oppression.

As we recognize that prostitution has affected many folks of different ages, Joyclyn, Melanie and Castanita represent 3 different generations- with over 40 years of lived experience combined- and will talk about the effect of being in the ‘game’ at different times. As this is a ground-up project, we are asking for your help with the startup costs. We are trying to raise at least $8,000 dollars to get this show on the road! All donations will go towards the following:

-Film Crew
-Production
-Travel (We are all coming from different cities)
-Lodging
-Honorariums for the survivors

This is the first video of its kind and will be extremely useful towards our advocacy efforts nationwide. YOU have the opportunity to help fund something special. This film will be circulated to schools, conferences, panel discussions and more!

Any little bit counts. Can we count on you?
