C.A.N "for the kids" Fundraiser

Our student campaign is called C.A.N, short for College Awareness Network. We are a program designed to teach young scholars from 3rd to 8th grade about higher education! We do this by presenting three college-going focused workshops and one interactive tour of the San Jose State Campus. We believe it is never too early to begin thinking about college and learning about what it takes to get into your career of choice! We specifically target schools in low-income and marginalized communities to provide young scholars with a free opportunity of a lifetime. Anna Santana once said that it was a simple college tour that sparked her interest.

 

This year C.A.N is partnering with CornerStone Elementary for our 2022 program. However, we need your help in raising enough funds to cover the cost of transportation and provide a meal for these students. Unfortunetly, C.A.N has struggled to connect with members of the SJSU leadership leaving our campaign with zero funding or support from the SJSU administration. We are calling all the San Jose community, the SJSU community, and those who believe in the power of an education to support us in our efforts. In the words of Harry Edwards, "we must teach students to dream with their eyes open." Which is exactly what C.A.N is striving for. Together we C.A.N all support the next generation of learners!
