Camp Hope Stimulus Campaign

Tax deductible
Share the wealth! We are inviting people in the NMSU and Las Cruces Community to donate a portion of your stimulus checks to support Camp Hope, which serves the homeless population of Las Cruces. We are two seniors at the Creative Media Institute at NMSU, Fernando Rivera and Samantha D'Amico, and this is the biggest project we have ever launched to have a positive impact in our community. Please help us reach our goal!

Camp Hope is a self-governing transitional living community that provides temporary, shelter in the form of tents, showers, and cooking facilities to the homeless population of Las Cruces. The program is run by the amazing local non-profit Mesilla Valley Community of Hope (MVCH). MVCH’s services include day shelter, temporary overnight shelter at Camp Hope, intensive case management, housing programs, and assistance with transitioning out of homelessness and into stable housing.

Our goal is to Raise $10,000 in 45 days, to fund one year of resources for Camp Hope at full capacity (50 People). Please consider donating a portion of your stimulus check to reach our goal. $1, $5, $25, $50, no amount is too small! Every donation will help! Please donate and then tag five people in your life to do the same.

Your donations will buy:
1.     50 Tents: $5,000
2.     Bulk Laundry Detergent: $2,400
3.     50 Sleeping Bags: $2,500
4.     Extra Hygiene Products: $100

Who we are: We are enrolled in the course the Social Impact of Film, taught by Professor Ilana Lapid, and launched this project as a way to use our creative voices to have an impact on our community. We are working with Kyle Ivy, Mario Martinez along with the students in the Social Impact of Film course. We are supported by Nicole Martinez, the Executive Director of Mesilla Valley Community of Hope, and her team.
“My vision is to help those in need that seek it or are unable to find aid within the community. I am hoping that my efforts here will show the world that wanting to make a change in the world starts within yourself, your community, and taking that initiative to help others.”
-Fernando Rivera

“My vision is to provide as much aid as possible to those in need in our community. I hope that this campaign shows how much we can positively impact those around us when we work together.” -Samantha D’Amico
