Camden Saves the World
Donation protected
On Aug. 30th Camden was admitted to the PICU at Blank Children's Hospital. He was diagnosed with the rare condition of Acute Flaccid Myelitis, a polio-like virus that attacked his spinal cord and caused temporary loss of control of his right arm, neck and his right lung. He was intubated for a week and did not eat solid food for over month. However, like the super hero he is, Camden has fought back and continues to work to defeat this very ugly virus. After 40 days and 40 nights, Camden has thankfully been released from the PICU and begins his next journey towards recovery at ChildServe. This is an inpatient facility that will help Camden regain muscle strength and coordination through intensive physical therapy. It is estimated that Camden will be at ChildServe for the next 4-6 weeks followed by continuing outpatient therapy.
Our family did not realize the journey we would be taking or how long the road would actually be. Kelli and Justin continue to try to work, but now also need to focus on Camden and help him throughout the day. We are asking people for support as they face new challenges emotionally, physically and financially. We do not know when or where this road will lead, but we are asking for a little bit of support as we continue the journey. We know the reward at the end will be a powerful statement of God's love for all of us.
