Calling All Angels! Chris Borzym's Medical Fund

Donation protected
On behalf of our dear friend, Chris, we would like to start this campaign called Calling All Angels to help offset his immediate and substantial medical costs.
With love and gratitude for your support, Ann Kissel, Rosemary Lynch & Mary

We invite you to read this heartfelt message from Chris:

Hi everyone.  I'm Chris Borzym, owner of Christopher Mark Fine Flowers and Gifts in Brookfield.  We've been in business for 15 years in this town.  And in that 15 years, I have fallen in love with this community, my customers - from near and far, fellow business owners, and so many more people and local organizations.  It has been a great pleasure to be a part of this wonderful community.

Owning a successful flower shop has always been a dream of mine.  As a seven-year-old boy, I would pick flowers from our yard in Berwyn, load them in jars of water in my little red wagon, and walk through the neighborhood selling them.  Who knew that 38 years later I would open my own successful shop?  I have truly enjoyed sharing my creativity and passion with so many people.

On December 19th of last year, I awoke in the early morning with severe pains throughout by abdomen.  My husband Jim rushed me to the emergency room at Rush Oak Park Hospital.  After many hours of testing in the ER and the following week, it was determined that I have a few health issues, the most serious being advanced prostate cancer.

I am "Calling All Angels" to help Jim and me get through this turn of events in our lives.  I have always been a robust and healthy man and never thought twice about checking my very basic health insurance policy.   We will not get much help from that policy.  On top of that, during the previous 10 months of the COVID crisis, I have had to put every dollar I made into the store to keep in thriving.

The night before my ER visit, Jim and I were listening to a holiday concert by one of our favorite vocal groups, BETTY.  A guest singer named Jane Siberry (also known as Jill) performed a heart tugging song called "Calling All Angels."  The music and words brought both of us to tears.  It has become the mantra of our upcoming struggle.  I urge you to listen to this song.  Our favorite version features Jane Siberry and k.d. lang performing together.  Check it out on YouTube.

Jim and I are humbly calling on all of our angels to help us with the financial struggle that faces us.  No contribution is too small and we modestly thank you in advance.

I am keeping the store open with the help of family, friends, and my staff.  I will be there as often as possible during this time, but there will be times I cannot.  Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I look forward to sharing my creativity and passion with all of you for years to come.

Please feel free to share this with anyone who you think might be interested.

My Angels, I thank you.

Humbly, Chris
