Hey everyone! I have been blessed with the opportunity this August of heading out west to become a student of the Forerunner Music Academy (FMA) at the International House of Prayer University (IHOPU) in Kansas City MO!
IHOPU is a Bible school that exists to equip and send out believers who love Jesus and others wholeheartedly to preach the Word, heal the sick, serve the poor, plant churches, start houses of prayer, and proclaim the return of Jesus as King over the nations. IHOPU stands upon the foundation of the IHOP prayer room, which was founded in 1999 by Mike Bickle and has run 24/7 ever since.
FMA is a full time music academy that combines excellent musicianship with the study of the Word and intimacy with Jesus, preparing it's students to serve in houses of prayer, local churches, and places of worship all over the world.
For the last two+ years the Lord has continued to burn inside my heart a passion for helping lead a generation of orphans home into there Father's arms through worship and song. I truly believe that there is nothing more powerful and dangerous than a generation of believers who walk boldly and confidently in their identities as children of God, unafraid of what the world may say or do because they know who they are as citizens of Heaven.
"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer. My heart's desire is to help others know God for who He truly is. A loving Father, a sovereign King, a gracious Savior, a faithful Friend. I believe worship can affect the way we see God in immeasurable ways. When we declare who He is, He begins to sing over us who we are to Him and reveals His heart to us more clearly.
When I visited IHOP in January I wasn't sure what to expect; but from the moment I stepped into the prayer room I felt a peace that grew greater and greater the longer I was there. Through sitting in on classes and meeting various faculty and students the Lord began to confirm to me that this was where He wanted me to be to grow in my relationship with Him, and to cultivate the gifts He's given me.
During my time at FMA I will be receiving both theological and musical training that consists of New Testament theology, songwriting, music theory, sound production, and skill development in my chosen instrument to help prepare me to minister to this generation through worship and prayer. I will be placed on a worship team, where the theological and musical training will converge, with coaching in a 24/7 prayer room environment.
The cost per semester at FMA is $2,875, which does not include housing and everyday living expenses such as gas and food. Student loans and grants are not available for IHOPU students. So I'm asking for your support; both financially and even more importantly, in prayer as I step into this next season of my life. I have this page set up for those of you who feel led to partner with me financially through donations or monthly support. Any amount is INCREDIBLY appreciated. Any and all money raised will be going toward housing, and my tuition at FMA this next year. I can't even begin to express just how much your prayers and support mean to me.
I am so excited and expectant to see how the Lord is going to provide over the coming moths and cannot wait to step into what He is calling me to at FMA this coming fall!
