#CaldicotDoes5K to support NHS and Care workers

Like many schools across the UK, Caldicot has supported by the NHS by donating all science protective equipment including goggles and gloves etc. However, as a community we want to do more. Therefore, inspired by Miss Bunston in our PE department we want to encourage people to help improve their physical wellbeing during the period of locakdown while raising valuable funds for worthy causes at this time.
We are calling on Caldicot staff, members of the community and friends of the school to support us by joining the 'Can Do 5K initiative'. This will involve undertaking a 5km journey as part of a walk, run, roll or cycle. It may form part of your recommended government daily workout (whilst observing social distance at all times) - and then provide a donation to our fundraising page. Afterwards, we ask that you upload a picture of yourself (or your efforts) holding a piece of paper with the #CaldicotDoes5K and then nominate 3 others to do the same. Within the message we ask you include the link to our funding page... It is that simple!
Any support through voluntary donation would be gratefully received. We intend to distribute the monies generated to
1) Aneurin Bevan Charitable Fund to help provide necessary PPE for frontline NHS workers; and
2) Age Connect, who support elderly members of the community who will be particulalry affected by COVID-19.

For the avoidance of doubt, this initiative must not breach government expectations around social distancing etc. Anyone who takes part in the initiative should ideally take undertake the activity in their own garden or locally as part of the recommended daily exercise. However, it should be done independently or with someone else within the household. It must not be done with friends or those in separate households.
