On June 30th I made a cake that went viral!!!!! To my surprise I was asked not to return to work on July 2nd. On July 8th it was confirmed that I was out of a job. This was the only place I could show off what I could do but I'm a hard worker. This story reached 13WMAZ,USA TODAY, 96.1 even THE TALK!!!!!! I'm starting this fundraiser because making cakes is my passion and I would love to better my craft. If you support me you wont regret it because I wont give up on my dreams. I know this wont be an over night process but I'm willing to put in the work!!!! Even if you can't support the cause financially just a like will be just great!!!!! I've never done anything like this but I worked two jobs only to NEVER be able to invest in my dream. I am a mother of two beautiful girls. One who loves to decorate cakes and bake goodies with me. THEY believe in ME so I'm willing to jump out there. With your support THIS can happen. I would also like to add that I did an interview on 96.1 please check their website for that. I cleared up something a few people are missing. I'm also funding myself but everyone at some point needs help. I get that a lot of ppl dont understand why I declined THAT job but let me state why AGAIN. After the cake went viral I called the manager who asked me to do the cake on July 2nd. On July 3rd I spoke with the owner who told me he had to check video and audio and to call him back the following Monday. I did and he told me I CANT EMPLOY YOU!!!!! He also told me he would get my separation papers,which he did. AFTER the media's involvement and GIVING me my separation papers he called me several times and another manager(who asked if I could come in later in the week.) BUT when I spoke with him(that Monday) he was not hearing me. But if what I did was not up to company standards WHY are you now calling me asking me to come back?? I am working and trying to find ANOTHER second job. But until I find one I'm enrolling in culinary school to better my skills. Thank you for reading my story.
