Caitlin's Guatemala Mission's Trip
Donation protected
Hello Everyone! I have the amazing opportunity to participate in a mission’s trip to Antigua, Guatemala with Midwestern University where I am currently attending grad school. The trip is February 23rd-March 9th (2-weeks), where the student group and I will be traveling to two impoverished villages (Tecpán & San Andres Iztapa) to treat patients who do not have regular access to medical care. This should be an incredible experience as most of the patients we treat will be all ages with varying medical issues/complaints. The villages have no medical equipment which as you can imagine presents some unique challenges. This means that each of us going will have to bring an extra bag full of medical supplies.
This trip is sponsored by Midwestern and under the direction of their professional staff who are licensed therapists, doctors and physician assistants. There is a multitude of disciplines who will be participating on the mission trip including; podiatry, physician assistants, osteopathic medicine, and dental. The majority of our time we will be working with patients, but will have the weekends to explore all that beautiful Guatemala has to offer!
This mission trip is an amazing, once in a life time opportunity. I am excited and feel incredibly blessed to do this work.
I would greatly appreciate any size donations to help me fund my trip! I am going with the organization DOCare and unfortunately because I am fundraising on my own, donations cannot be tax exempt. I know this is a bummer, but please don’t let that stop you!
Thanking you in advance for your generosity and am truly grateful for your support.
