Cait & Mike Telaak Tough: Medical Expenses Fund
Donation protected
In 2012 Cait Telaak moved to Buffalo from Illinois to work alongside me. Little did I know I would find a wonderful, loyal and loving friend. Little did SHE know I would force her to become my best friend! :)
For the last 7 years I have enjoyed a dear friend that just “gets” me. No matter what happened, when it happened, how it happened; I knew I could always count on Cait. She is genuine, caring, selfless, strong, adventurous, courageous, articulate and intelligent.
In 2015, Cait was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma Cancer (bile duct cancer). Somehow, she remained calm, positive and strong while she worked side by side with doctors to come up with the most effective course of action. Cait has underwent countless surgeries, procedures and treatments. All with a sense of humor and a smile on her face.
Through all of that, she found the time and strength to become a research advocate for the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. She has been a relentless advocate for herself and others with this same disease; mentoring other patients, speaking at conferences, always working to better the lives of others. Her unwavering faith has brought comfort not only to herself but all the people in her life. She is a mentor, friend, wife, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, godmother and granddaughter. We are all so lucky to have her in our lives.
On Wednesday, May 22nd, Cait received some devastating news; her current chemo treatment is not working, and the cancer spread to additional portions of her liver and lungs. She will be starting a new treatment that has a 20% chance of working.
I am starting this go fund me page to help offset costs of the medical travel, treatment and care she will need over the coming months. Cait is a remarkable young woman who has done so much for others, lets help alleviate any financial burden her and her husband, Mike are feeling. They deserve to be able to spend their time focusing on the things that matter most to them.
