"Bit by bit..." send Cailin to Boston.

"Every time I start to feel defensive
I remember *tuition is expensive."

With apologies to Stephen Sondheim, and supplications to my friends and family, I will admit to you that "art isn't easy" and that I need your help.

My dreams are within my reach. I want to make theatre happen. I want to take people out of their lives and into the intensity of others. I want to connect people by letting them connect to the stories on stage where actors can project and reflect back at 'em. The Theater is the most profund sense of community I have ever known.

As many of you know I was humbled to be accepted to The Boston Conservatory for this September. It is very selective and well connected, and one of only two MFA Musical Theater programs in the country. I have researched BoCo since undergrad and my acceptance left me feeling like the dreams of my childhood were still within my reach and that years of hard work had led to this place where my career could rocket forward.

Uncle Sam hooked this girl up with student loans, and until recently I had been under the impression that my living expenses would be fine as well.  Upon further examination of programs and class costs, I'm left with a paltry sum that can't even cover the rent prices of Boston.

This is where you come in: I need patrons of the arts.

I need people who believe in dreams.

I need people who believe in determination and pursuit of happiness to throw a sister some change.

I need friends who love me enough to not buy me a drink at the bar, but to throw five bucks my way.

I need family who respect my years of work and commitment to help me in a harder leg of lifes race.

I need the community I'm a part of to hold me up as they always have on stage, with trust, love and a sense of adventure.

I need the universe to hear my hearts intentions.

I'm not one to ask for help, but this time it is too important for me not to. I swallow my pride and come to the universe, community, and nearest and dearest, saying only please and thank you. If you feel you cannot help I understand entirely, and only ask that you "like" and "share" me on social media.  All press is good press, right?  Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and to the back of the house. It never hurts to ask, and as a priest told my mother once, "People want to help others, give them a chance to."
