Help save Jasper

Jasper is our 4 year old  husky who was rescued as a puppy. He’s a big character and very loved by adults, children and animals  everywhere he goes. We have just found out he has a rare liver condition called Portsystemic, liver shunt. He’s a bit of a miracle as he shouldn’t have lived this long without specialised surgery which will give Jasper a normal life and a normal lifespan. 




A liver shunt is a birth defect that makes the blood flow bypass the liver, therefore blood is not detoxified and the animal is poisoned which causes neurological issues or death. Surgical treatment will cure this.




Jasper is currently being stabilised with medication and a specific diet to manage his condition whilst we save for his surgery. 




The surgery isn't too invasive, as it's an extra-hepatic shunt, and involves shutting off the vessel that bypasses his liver. The success rates are high, but it needs to be done by a specialist.




He has pet insurance but unfortunately insurance companies are are very unfair and will not cover what is required, which could reach in excess of £10,000. Although it's difficult for us to ask for help, we won't be able to afford the procedure without help.




All the money will go straight to helping Jasper. He’s such an amazing and special dog who is truly deserving of this chance. We will forever be grateful for any help we receive no matter how small.
