Late last night we got that phone call that no mother should ever get. My son, Miguel, 35, loving husband and father of 3 teens, heart had stopped. After many attempts to keep his heart beating, he ended up on life support.
Miguel has had 5 previous heart attacks, all due to diabetes...he is type 1. He has had many trips to the hospital, most of the time I have not been able to get there due to finances. Miguel lives in Tacoma area of Washington state. We live in New Hampshire.
This time it's different, he has very little brain activity. The prognosis is not good. We would like to go hold him and be with him for as long as we can.
The airfare is the wall we face, it varies between 4000-6000 for this family of 5, the few day van rental is in at about 1000. I am disabled, my daughter is a single mom and well, we just make it mostly, nowadays. We are asking for help to bring the whole family, that's us on the left in the pic. Myself, Carmella, my daughter Angela, and her 3 teens, David, Tatiana, and Venus. The travel expenses are all we need, we will be able to snuggle ourselves in with our family, once there. This is not a happy trip to Disneyland, this is a desparate attempt to hold on to someone who has had a hard, but family rich life so far, it's seriously way to soon for him to go. His kids, and wife have such an uncertain life ahead.
