Dollars for Debbie

After the sudden loss of our dad in 2006 our mom Debbie Chalmers struggled to raise 3 out of 5 of us girls. She has always been strong for all of us so we want to return the favor. On June 22, 2014 our mom was rushed to the hospital with what we thought was a severe migraine. It turned out that she had a 4cm brain tumor and was admitted into the ICU for surgery the following morning. After finally returning home June 30, 2014 we we're glad to be on the long road to recovery. After 3 weeks of therapy, at home nursing and a good doctor check ups we thought things we're going along smoothly. But on July 15, 2014 she returned to the hospital due to an infection at the surgical site and had to be admitted again for surgery the following morning. A section of her skull had to be removed and the site had to be cleaned. She was closed with that part of the skull missing which has left a flat soft spot on her head. She was then transferred to a specialty hospital for 6 weeks of IV anitbotics where she is currently. After she is finished with the antibiotics she will then return to the 1st hospital to under go her 3rd and final surgery to insert a metal mesh in the spot her skull is missing. From there we are unsure. Our mom has no insurance and the medical bills are piling up already. It is also unclear on when she will be able to return to work. So house bills are piling up as well. Our fundraising efforts will hopefully help her cover some of this rising debt so all she needs to worry about is focusing on her health. Shes all we have left.
