The Historic Hosannah Baptist Church located on Ellis St. in the Harrisburg district of Augusta, Ga has caught fire from an adjacent vacant property. The church is situated within blocks of the Kroc Center, and the recently closed low-income, federally subsidized Renaissance Apartments on Broad St. The fire broke out early morning March 10, 2020. The cause of both fires has been determined to be arson. The church was built in 1829 and is registered in the National Historic Register. The church is a staple of the Harrisburg neighborhood. Many of the members grew up in the neighborhood and have attended the church since their youth.
Yes, the small congregation has insurance, yet it is not nearly enough to cover the extensive fire damage and all that was damaged and or destroyed. Please help us rebuild our church. You can also give at any Wells Fargo bank in the country. Just tell them you would like to donate to the Historic Hosannah Missionary Baptist Church fire GoFundMe. Thank you!
