Help Me Help My Sister

My little sister Carolyn is an amazing, brave soul who followed her heart this past summer when she moved herself and her adorable daughters from their home state where Carolyn had lived most of her life to a brand new state, new job, new everything. 

Three weeks or so after the move, her daughter Riley was diagnosed with Leukemia, two weeks before Riley's 10th birthday. 

Carolyn has no established support network in her new home, because she just got there. She has no one to help her with basic things like grocery shopping and driving the kids to school or taking Riley to the hospital for her treatments, no one to babysit. She cannot afford to pay a full time babysitter while Riley is too weak to be at school. And she just started her new job, which is how she has insurance to help cover the cost of Riley's care, so she cannot not go to work. 

The work I do, I can do from anywhere as long as I have a fast internet connection, so it is absolutely logical that I would go and help my family in this time when I'm needed the most, but I cannot afford the plane ticket to get there.  

We may be able to get some small funding help for part of the cost of the ticket through a cancer fund in her area, but we're not sure yet and haven't heard back from them, and we don't know how much they can contribute, if anything. 


A round trip ticket costs between 6000 - 8000 SEK, so I'm setting the goal to 8000. (That's about $900 roughly)
