Funding for Canon Law Program

I was recently accepted to one of the most exclusive academic programs in the world: Cardiff University’s two-year program in Anglican Canon Law. Taught in Wales, it is the only such program to exist in the world since Henry VII abrogated the study of Canon Law during the Reformation. Cardiff accepts a maximum of fifteen students a year, most of whom are English lawyers acquiring a specialization for their firms.
I see enormous potential for the opportunities this program could provide. I have begun working with the Academic Dean of one Episcopal Seminary to create programs there to teach the next generation of Anglican priests the intricacies of Canon Law. To do so, I need your help. As a newly ordained priest with a very young family, the cost of a program like this is prohibitive. After seeking funding from several sources in the Church and in Academia, I have found that scholarship in this field is so sparse that scholarships and grants are simply unavailable. In order to fund this training, I’m counting on individuals like you who see the need for strong, comprehensive training of priests to create the Church of the Future without casting aside the Church of the Past.
Will you help me to attain the training and knowledge necessary to bring this vision to fruition? Your financial support is necessary for me to do so. The tuition and costs associated with my attendance at Cardiff will eclipse $30,000 over two years including travel and lodging for the four modules. I have received a pledge from one donor for a 1-to-2 matching pledge, meaning every $10 pledged will be partially matched by $5 from them. That means your pledge goes even further to help fund my attendance in this program.
I have seen first-hand the benefits of this knowledge in the Church’s efforts to promote and protect the Gospel on National levels. Unfortunately, I have also seen what can happen on a parish level when clergy and laity don’t know the rights and responsibilities provided them by the Canons. Please help me to acquire the tools I need to help the Future leadership of the Church build up the Body of Christ on Earth.
