Dave's ALS Medical Bills & Home Aid

My father, Dave was diagnosed with ALS in early 2013 and has progressed very quickly.  He currently is unable to speak, eat (feeding tube only) and is struggling to walk.  With all of this happening to my father’s body – his spirit and sense of humor is awesome, which makes our family happy.  Although medical bills and the cost for the home health aide is getting really tough on my family's funds.

Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe, with your mind being completely intact. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.

Presently there is no known cause of the disease, nor is there no known cure, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $200,000 or more a year to provide the care ALS patients need.
