Hello,
My name is Ryoma Muraoka, and I'm in the very last semester of International Studies degree program at the University of Utah, USA.
I have been a College of Humanities student ambassador, made it on a Dean's List for academic success, and participated in and contributed to several students organizations. I'm currently doing an internship program at a non-profit humanitarian organization as well. My university experience has been spectacular, but it was not an easy road to get to where I am today.
Because of the very expensive tuitions for international students, I could not afford the higher education after attaining an Associate's degree. So I decided to take 3 years off from school and went back to Japan (my home country) to work.
I had three different jobs and worked so hard for 70 hours/ week in Japan. After a year of working in Tokyo, I figured that I can make more money in Australia so I moved. I worked at several kinds of jobs, including farm work and labor work, for two years in Australia. After years of saving up money, I was finally able to come back to America to finish my college education.
However, due to a drastic change of currency exchange rate and an increase of school tuition, I can't afford to pay although I'm so close to graduate. With my job and internship, I am working 34 hours/week while studying fulltime, but it is not enough to cover the whole tuition.
For me, it is more than just receiving a college certificate. It is about proving that someone like me can make a dream come to a reality. No matter where one comes from, one can make a difference.
I came from broken home, lost my brother and best friend on the way, and went through countless struggles, but I Refused to Give Up.
I'm still here thriving to achieve my goal so that someday I can inspire others and help those who are like me or even in a worse situation.
And I Need Your Help to Accomplish that Goal!
Please help me, every dollar counts. I need at least $1400 and I only have about 2 weeks before the tuition due date. I am INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL for those who can help to donate or share this page.
