As I'm sure anyone that knows Chad and Jess, they will attest that their love for each other is visibly obvious and admired by many.  Following an 8 month engagement, Chad and Jess tied the knot in front of more than 200 of their closest friends and family.   Chad and Jess have been married for 6 wonderful years.

Both young and avid servants of the Almighty God, they are first-hand witnesses to his miracles and faithfulness.

Jess was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) when she was 6 months old.  She has known illness and hospitals nearly her entire life.  She survived a critical double lung transplant and has lived on anti-rejection medication for the past 8 years.  Unfortunately, in September of this year, she was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma, which is the most aggressive form of this disease.  It was at this point they embarked on their greatest journey with God.

In addition to Jess' immunosuppressed state, she also had insulin dependent Diabetes due to the CF.  Due to Jess' unique circumstances, she was eligible for an aggressive clinical trial as opposed to standard chemotherapy.   After much careful thought the decision was made to enter into the trial.  An a trial it did become...

Through the bacteremia (blood infections) x 2, broken foot, recurrent fevers, and failing kidneys, their love and trust in God persevered.  They were never bitter or angry at the doctors or God.  Occasionally frustrated with doctors, yes.  Perplexed with God, yes, but never doubted His goodness.  Their love for each deepened as their dependency on God increased.  God shined his glory through them as they persevered, demonstrating inner strength and a sacrificial love that only God could provide.

They spent 9 out of the last 12 weeks in the hospital.  Chad was unable to work because he never left her side.  He did set up shop to try to work but it was very hard due to the constant changes in her condition and always talking to doctors.  Jess had 7 teams of doctors following her:  Transplant team, oncology, renal, infectious disease, GI, Palliative (pain), Gynecology and ENT.   Needless to say while medical expenses where the last thing on their mind, unfortunately, they will not disappear.

Jess passed on to her heavenly home on December 3, 2018.  Though she will be greatly missed, her memory will be forever engraved in the hearts of those who knew her, especially in Chad's heart.   He cherished her and sacrificed for her.  She respected him and loved him.  They gave people a peek into heaven and into the holy love that God has for us, His Church.  In spite of all the adversities, Jess was victorious through Jesus.  She glorified Him by bringing out the best in Chad and showing us what a Godly marriage looks like.  Those who knew her, and will hear of her, will be forever blessed by her warrior strength and by her gentle and loving heart.
