This past week Mariam’s cancer was staged at 4.  Stage 4 Lymphoma is treatable, her prognosis is excellent, it is not really any different than if it had been just stage 1.  Treatments will be longer, she has a long road to travel.  She will be starting her chemo treatments Thursday.  She is truly a fighter and she will beat this thing.  She can use your help.  Any thing you could do would be appreciated.  Expenses are going to continue to be very high.  She has been able to keep her health insurance but what insurance pays is only part of the cost, yes, it is the bulk of the cost but not nearly all of it.  There are so many day-to-day cost that insurance does not begin to pay.  Please help.

Updated story...  My niece has been diagnosed as having Hodgkin Lymphoma.  We had been hoping that the tumor was just a Thymoma.  Surgery revealed Monday that it wasn’t a Thymoma and when the pathology report came back Wednesday it showed it was Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  Thankfully the prognosis is good but the road ahead of her is long and tough.  She is not able to work currently.  Her husband Jake Reese has not started a new job yet and really the most important thing he can do now is be with his wife.  They have relocated to GA to be closer to her parents and other family.  They are great kids and Mariam will make it through all this.  Help from family and friends like you will be greatly appreciated.  Please do what you can to help.

Thankfully they are going to be able to keep the health insurance that Jake had in December.  It is COBRA coverage and they expect it will be very expensive.  Changing coverage at this time is not possible.  Deductibles and non-covered expenses are going to be significant.

Next week Mariam has an appointment with an oncologist to make treatment plans.  They will make a determination at that time as to what stage the cancer is.

Thank you for everything you do.

My 25 year old niece Mariam Reese was just diagnosed with a tumor called Thymoma which is a very rare tumor and is fast growing located near her heart. She has been working for Starbucks for several years now but she has no heath insurance and the tumor has to be removed immediately. Due to the location of the tumor only a heart doctor can preform the surgery which she doesn't have the needed funds for. They are unsure at this point if the tumor is malignant or not and are choosing to do the biopsy after it has been removed due to the location of the tumor. The tumor is pressing againts her heart which could be life threatening if not removed promptly. If you are able to help her it would be greatly appreciated.
