King's Retinal Reattachment Surgery
Donation protected
Our two and a half year old boston terrier/pug King, has recently lost complete vision in both of his eyes. Both eyes have severe retinal detachment as well as vitreal dysplasia. His right eye is far more worse than the left. After taking him to an ophthalmologist, they said with vitreoretinal surgery, King has a good chance of regaining vision in his left eye. With a successful surgery he would be able to avoid objects, find doorways, navigate well and confidently. These last few days have been pretty hard on him. He loves going on walks and running around at the park, but now is terrified to leave our apartment to even go downstairs to the bathroom. Without the surgery, retinal detachment can lead to glaucoma. This is an increased pressure inside of the eyes that causes a severe headache sensation. We are seeking help for the surgery from compassionate people, pet lovers, or anyone who has met King and knows how sweet and social he is. Anything that helps our dog regain vision is completely appreciated. Thank you for everyones support and compassion.
