Run for Randy
Donation protected
Cousins, Katie and Kelsey Riesterer, have one goal this summer and that is to run for Randy! Their 5 month training and upcoming 26.2 mile Fox Cities Marathon is in recognition of the strength, faith, perseverence, and long road that their Uncle Randy has been on since being diagnosed with cancer six years ago.
Please help them raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society http://www.lls.org/ to be donated in Uncle Randy's name.
Randy Riesterer is a 52 year old husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to us all. On Feb. 24, 2009 Randy was taken to Holy Family Memorial Center in Manitowoc due to severe lower back pain and muscle spasms. Within a few days the pain and spasms were significantly reduced with medication. After completing a series of examinations, Randy was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.
Multiple Myeloma is a malignant cancer of the plasma cell, which is a type of white blood cell found in bone marrow and many tissues of the body. Normal plasma cells fight infections, but malignant plasma cells lose this ability and crowd out other infection fighting cells. As the cancer grows, it destroys normal bone tissue, causing pain and crowding out normal cell production. It is considered a bone marrow/blood cancer and is closely related to leukemia and lymphoma.
Please keep Randy, his wife, Faye and children, Dusty, Dayna and Dilyn and his many family members in your thoughts and prayers. Run for Randy!
