Our good friend David James has been diagnosed with Stage 4 non-keratinizing squamous cell tumor at the rt base of the tongue and neck. Radiation and chemo, the preferred option. David will be pretty "beat up" after the first month. He will "go down" and then "back up". Six to eight weeks of both treatments.
It is possible that David may need surgery at the end of his radiation/chemo treatments. The side effects will come on slow and steady. He won't be able to work after week two. I am asking for donations to help with gas and parking for his daily travels to and from the Cleveland Clinic. Without David's income his day to day expenses for his household will be cut drastically as well as expenses for his treatment. Co-pays must be met at each visit since he has a team of doctors in different departments.
The outpouring of love and friendship has overshadowed the cancer and has become the true life event for me!
With my deepest appreciation,
David
