Dear Family, Friends, and Colleagues
Please help in acknowledging a pioneer in our community, Pearl Buchanan-Samuels. On August 30, 2014, we will be celebrating Pearls Day Care and 26 years of service by hosting an annual back-to-school block party.
In recent months, our Champaign-Urbana community has been plagued with drugs and gun violence which has resulted in
innocent lives being lost. Seems like everyday we are reading R.I.P. messages on our social media timelines. Our local newspaper and tv stations are often headlined by the negative in our community and fails to highlight any positivity. It is that type of negative publicity that overshadows the good being done in our community. Lack of leadership in our community has allowed promising youth to go astray and seek guidance from those who have been misguided. We all are at fault for allowing this to happen but enough is enough. Please help us restore proper leadership in our community by celebrating our youth and uplifting a positive staple in our community such as Pearl's Day Care.
It is our goal to raise $5,000. All proceeds will go directly to funding the event (street permit, bouncy houses, games, school supplies, community shirts, food, etc.) All excess proceeds will go to educational development tools and new playground equipment, to ensure a productive and safe daycare environment. We all have a responsibility to give back to our youth and our community. Please help us shed a BRIGHTER light on the positives in our community by focusing on our youth and encouraging better leadership.
